Once again, top shelf analysis. I gotta say those were "bust choruses", not "whispers" and he's still got a lot to prove, but excellent spotlight on a young talent in an overlooked hockey market.

Thanks, Jimmy. You're right about choruses vs. whispers. I may have let some of my own bias sneak in there, as I tend to take a longer view on development. Folks are so quick to judge kids who barely have NHL experience.

Anyway, very interested to see how next season plays out for the Kings—especially with Dubois in the mix.

Kings fan here. I have my biases as well, but like you, I really don't see how you can reasonably call someone that young a bust. Just looking at QB, he hasn't filled out physically yet; we haven't seen what he can do once he has size to leverage. He has skills: I remember him making a no-look, between-his-skates assist to Kopitar late last season and Kopi just looking at him in astonishment when they were celebrating the goal.

Yep, bigger players tend to take a little longer to reach their potential. We probably won't see the best version of him for another few years. His size-speed combo is scary.

As for the assist you're referring to, it's in this very article! Great touch and awareness to set Kopi up.

Dubois is still scarred for life from Tortorella
