Curious to see if his defensive effectiveness is better in than NHL than it was in the NCAA, he ate A TON of minutes against super high quality competition at BU so his numbers suffered a little.
Yeah, his TOI is becoming a concern. 30 minutes tonight vs. LA and 24 earlier this week vs. PIT. Should be playing second-pairing minutes (~20 per game) with heavy OZ starts and PP usage. Ideally against softer comp.
No sense in rushing him. He's a rookie on a rebuilding team.
I briefly talked with a MTL fan and they said that unless Hutson or Guhle is out there, it’s a complete lost cause on D. So maybe St. Louis sees the same thing lol.
The entire blue line is a mess, really. But since MTL aren't in win-now mode, I don't see the point in running Hutson into the ground. I hope management realizes that they need to bring him along slowly and under the right conditions for his development.
